Our small school consists of only grades 3 - 5. We have approximately 300 students and are located in a small rural area. Teachers at our school no longer get supply money each year due to budget cuts. We do have a locked supply closet in which we have to be escorted in order to gather needed supplies. Therefore, it's pretty much impossible to ask for and receive any extras, such as pencil sharpeners, hole punchers, etc. I have a wonderful 4th grade class this year with a lot of hard workers. I have been teaching for 14 years, and I have said that this may be the first year I actually cry at the end of the year (Aren't all teachers excited about summer vacation??). My students are very eager to learn, and that makes it very easy to come to work each day and do what I love, TEACH! My students love to set goals for themselves to meet. They enjoy competing each week with other 4th grade classes for the Reading and Math Banner. They love to read chapter books and do group projects.
