My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and are a mixed group of African American/ Latino students. Many of my students are avid readers, requesting certain books by title. In circumstances where our library can not provide these books, my students are greatly disappointed. My middle school students at grades 6 are strong readers. At times, our library has a waitlist of approximately 40-50 students requesting to read limited copies of popular book titles (i.e Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Long Haul). Students will greatly appreciate opportunities to read interesting and exciting books. My struggling readers also would appreciate the opportunity to build their comprehension skills.
