My students are children who struggle with intellectual and/or social disabilities. My school is a CPS school on the southwest side of Chicago that just expanded their program, ensuring that the students in this program can attend the same school from Pre-K through 8th grade as their general education peers are able to. My students are the kind of kids you look forward to seeing everyday. They are curious, kind, and inspiring. They become a part of your life in a way that makes you wonder how you got along without knowing them. They can be challenging and stubborn as well, but the smiles on their faces when they master a concept--- that is the greatest feeling there is in the world!
