Currently, I am scrambling for book boxes to support our literacy practices. When students read to self, I want them to be able to sit in one spot, with their full book box. This supports building reading stamina as well as allows as smooth and quick transition to reading. Book boxes are built with teacher support, student interest/choice, at an appropriate "just right" level. Right now I have only found very used and sad mix of cardboard and magazine holders to use and I think that these durable and colorful book boxes will bolster student interest in our use of book boxes. We also need a durable student mailbox system where students can receive important papers and keep their folders in a neat spot. The one I have inherited is cardboard and falling apart. These upgrades will make the students feel special and support our learning practices.
