My students are extremely vibrant and genuinely want to improve their math knowledge. They are part of a network that implements extended school year and an extended school day in order to address their academic needs. Our school facilities are also extremely old, and for some reason during the winter months our heating system is broken and then spring months our schools are over-heated. I can see the diverse and energetic personalities of my students sometimes discouraged by these external factors. I worked with many of these students in elementary school and it kills me to hear them say, "Elementary School was so much more fun!"
