I teach in a low-income, urban district. Some students come to my class already knowing a lot about the environment and the ecosystem they are a part of, but others come to class not knowing what plants are and telling me that they have never taken a walk in a forest. Hands-on problem solving and getting outdoors is what my students need. I'm really trying to get my students to "do" science and not just learn about science.

About my class
