On my campus, we serve 600 students where 91% of them are economically disadvantage. My district serves 87.1% economically disadvantaged students. Unfortunately, many of them do not have the school supplies they need to be successful. I currently teach 5th grade ELAR: Gen ED/ESL/SPED. My students are wonderful children who work so hard to be successful. They appreciate everything they own, everything they learn, and everything they are given. We are a very unique school family because most of my students have been together since Pre-K, and some of them have been together their entire lives. They are a very close knit school family who are striving for excellence and nothing less. It is important to me that the students continue the rest of the year with the necessary supplies they are used to having in order for them to be successful.
