My school is in a rural community. Many of my students have not traveled far beyond our local community. I believe that reading books allows students to travel outside our classroom to places they may only learn about through reading books. I also believe reading is key to growing their vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. Sometimes getting access to new reading material is not always easy due to limited funding.
