For the last 5 years, I have been working as a Technology Education teacher. In my previous roles, I have always taught with computers using Windows software with my students. This year as a middle school Technology Education teacher, I are fortunate that I have 1:1 MacBook Pro laptops for my classroom. Although I have learned to navigate somewhat on the MacBook Pro laptop, there are still significant gaps in my knowledge of the Apple software, such as Pages, Keynote,Numbers, and Grapher. I feel that my lack of knowledge hinders my ability to teach students how to use these different software packages effectively to my students. Because of our district's security restrictions on our computers, I cannot take a laptop home for a extended period of time to learn how to use these software packages. I teach 120 students a day/350 per year (grades 5-8) and I want to be able to equip my students with the skills that they will need to succeed in high school and beyond.
