In my classroom, the library area is the students most favorite center to be in. When they get rotated into this station, there is a sigh of relief and a sense of excitement to get there. The bookshelves are stacked and organized with over 1,000 books that are ready to be delved into.. The only problem is, other than this rotation and a book bag of paper booklets I send home with them, they do not get much experience with books. Wouldn't it be fantastic if the students could read at any given down time? Wouldn't it be great if they were motivated to complete their work so they can get back to reading their most favorite books? I think so. These kids NEED to have books readily available to them at all times to foster a love and passion for constantly picking up books. These bins would stay at their individual desks and be full of books they have chosen themselves to read during their free time, during centers, or in between activities if they finish.
