Research and studies have told us that even young children have spent a high number of hours in front of a screen during the pandemic. I am seeing the repercussions of this activity in my students. Like never before, I am seeing students with a lack of fine motor skills, problem solving skills, independence and creativity. My students are very bright and have so much potential. My goal is to help my students overcome the obstacles they have been handed due to the pandemic by igniting their potential, building their confidence, encouraging independence and helping them excel in academics. The resources I am requesting for this project will help reach my goal. I am asking for several reading and writing game sets, activities and tools. These resources are fun and effective in teaching and reinforcing essential reading and writing skills, without the use of a screen or the traditional paper and pencil. These materials can be used in teaching small groups, independent practice and interventions. I am confident that my students will make great academic gains with the use of these resources and have fun while doing so!
