My students are a group of children who desire and most importantly have the ability to learn. I often remind them that I want them reading like a detective and writing like a reporter. I would describe my school as a beacon of hope for the students of the community. Our mission is to promote honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, kindness, citizenship, cooperation, and responsibility. Knowledge is power, and our goal is to reach for the highest academic standard possible. At Nathan B. Young Elementary, we provide a host of programs including, tutorial, academic and behavioral testing, and community involvement. Most of my students come from homes of low socioeconomic status and receive free or reduced lunch.
