My students are seven and eight year-olds, mostly English Language Learners. Our tight knit urban community does not have many options for preschool unless a student qualifies by having special needs. Our school continues through 8th grade, so we have unique opportunities to work in the same building with a student and their siblings for up to 9 years, kindergarten through 8th grade. We have 3 classes per grade level so all students are known by name by the majority of the staff, from classified to administration. Our size ensures accountability for students and staff. We all work hard and have earned awards the last 4 years from the state to prove it!
