Our students love learning but face many barriers. Our school is a high poverty school in which parents often need to work more than one job to make ends meet. Students often find added home responsibility at an early age which impacts their focus on learning. Additionally, they may not have the emotional support as parents may either not be present due to work responsibilities or are tired and frustrated themselves. School is a safe haven for many of our students in which they can get their nutritional, emotional, and learning needs met.

About my class
