I teach junior and senior English Literature in a suburban area in South Carolina. My student population is quite diverse in many ways. They range in age from fifteen to nineteen years old. Some of them are tiny, and some of them tower eight inches over my five-foot-seven-inch frame. I teach students who can barely speak English and students who craft beautiful and creative masterpieces. I get to spend my days with student athletes and student artists. Many of my students have developmental and behavioral disorders. The wide variety of student needs dictate that a variety of strategies be used to effectively serve them all.
