Each day I travel from school to school to serve students who have orthopedic disabilities. Some of these students have Cerebral Palsy which affects their fine motor skills, particularly in the area of handwriting. These students are in general education classrooms but need extra instructional support and accommodations to be successful. Raised line paper will benefit my students who have cerebral palsy. Using raised line paper is helpful in providing sensory feedback which assists my student in using the lines to accomplish their writing. The paper will be used as single sheets for various assignments in class and for homework. For some students, it will also be made into notebooks for various subject areas, including their writing journal and homework agenda. It is amazing to see what a piece of paper can do to help a struggling child achieve their goal!
