My Geometry classes always have 28- to 30 students and all function on different levels. Our school is a Title I district and funding for technology is limited. We are currently using white boards that I constructed from white cardboard inserted into a clear sheet protector. While I do have an InterWrite board for projecting problems onto a white screen, students struggle with using it to show their work. Also, it creates a handicap for some students because we have to turn off the lights for students to see what is projected. My project is to purchase an Interactive Board for my class room. This would help to inspire students to show their work to the class. I have researched and found that an Interactive Board would be a great asset to any classroom. Along with providing educators with state-of-the-art tools of technology, it also provides the student various ways of engagement. It has been my experience that students love to “show their work" when technology is available.
