I want my students to come into our classroom and feel right at home! Have you ever had to sit in one spot all day? It's miserable and that’s how my students feel when they sit at their desk every day! I want our classroom to be a place that students feel excited about and love coming to! I know this will happen once our classroom becomes more comfortable with flexible seating options! My goal for our classroom is that my students will be engaged, motivated, and inspired m, all while being comfortable, both mentally and physically! Flexible seating is an important addition to any classroom and mine is lacking in options for my students! Studies have shown that flexible seating helps students with choice, physical health, comfort, community within the classroom, collaboration, commitment to learning, sensory input, and fun! By adding rugs, a variety of different size and shape pillows, bean bag chairs, floor cushions, and a classroom teepee, students will have comfortable floor seating options that can be used in many areas of our room. Wobble disc and fidget bands will be a perfect addition for students who may need to get some wiggles out during class time. My goal for our classroom is to give my students a choice while being comfortable so that student success is evident everyday in our class!
