Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Through out the school day, my students will be able to choose a location and type of seating in the classroom that works for them. By providing flexible seating, my students will be able to make good choices about where they sit, they will be more engaged, comfortable, and focused. Over the past two years, I have used both classroom and personal fund to provide my students some alternative seating options. My students love the wobble stools we have, and it has made a big difference in their ability to focus. I have found that my students appreciate the choice of seating, that it gives them a voice and autonomy in their learning. I would like to provide my students some cozy places to read, as well as floor seating I can use at a low table which allows them flexible seating for collaborative learning. By providing my students with flexible options for seating it will have a positive affect on their learning experience in the classroom.
