Letter and sound knowledge is necessary before children begin to learn to read. These journals will provide additional practice with letters and sounds to students needing intervention. This engaging, interactive journal will help students to achieve the knowledge, skills and disposition for acquiring early literacy skills. The journals provide a link between home and school. Parents can see what their child is learning and reinforce skills at home. It is important for students to master this first step so they can begin to experience the joy of reading! I would like to reach these students before the gap widens between their current level of performance and grade level expectations.
