Each day, my students are required to log in to Lexia Core5. This program is a part of our district's Special Education Fill in the Gap Program. Currently, my students are using iPad minis to access the program. This has worked out wonderfully! However, there is one exception. One of my students has limited vision and he struggles to see the information on the iPad mini; therefore, it is necessary to have a computer with a larger screen to accommodate his visual deficits - a Macbook would definitely provide the needed adaptation. I teach Resource Reading in a low-income environment where a classroom set of student desktop computers is not available. Teaching literacy through reading is my passion. The benefits of incorporating Lexia Learning have proven to be immeasurable. Receiving the contribution of a MacBook will provide equal access to all students. In addition to increasing literacy, this contribution will continue to immerse students in technology. It is my request that you help me help this student bridge the academic gap!
