All of my middle school special education students do not realize the decisions they make today will help them become responsible savers as adults. They need learn visually, to understand the affects of saving and overspending. Using these iPads to play financial literacy games, look up financial literacy websites and having a multi--sensory approach will help my students learn these important functional skills. Our middle school is a diverse high-needs school of about 1,400 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Almost half qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of our students receive services, including ESL, special education, and academic intervention. They have learned how to work together regardless of their various economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
