Our school is a Title 1 school in a rural area. We have approximately 500 students in our school. My class of 20 students is very diverse. I love my students. I take the time to build a relationship with each of my students and I let them know through our conversations, notes, calls home, and one on one help that I care and love them. My students enjoy coming to school each day. They look forward to the activities that I plan for them through research projects, book clubs, science, social studies, and math teams that change often. We make time to reflect on our work as individuals and as a team. We incorporate rubrics to score ourselves and others. I encourage my students to be respectful to themselves and others. I have a motto in my class, "always choose to do what is right, no matter who is watching." I want my students to know that what happens in our classroom should carry over into all areas of their lives. I love watching my students become empowered and inspired.
