I have students in my classroom with a variety of needs. Some students become very overwhelmed in the classroom and need a break. A sensory room is a place where a child can explore and take a break from the stress of the classroom. I hope to see students take a break for 30 minutes during the day, so they can be more successful in the classroom. A variety of things will be available in the room. There will be a sensory wall with different textures and sensory tubs with different things to touch. They will also have a dark area to go in and sit to explore with different flashlights.
