These magnetic learning manipulatives will help build a deeper level of conceptual understanding for my kindergarten students. The magnetic aspect of the manipulatives will allow students to make visual connections with math and language arts concepts as well as being able to move them around on our white board while explaining their thinking and expanding their understanding. Kindergarten is a pivotal period of developing and strengthening conceptual understanding that students carry throughout their education. Being able to touch, count, visualize, and explore manipulatives build communication skills as well. Students will be able use manipulatives to show what they are thinking while they learn how to say what they are learning.
