Their books will expose my students to readings that are fun and full of pictures yet, still develop vocabulary, schema, and reading comprehension. In my classroom I want students to fall in love with reading; not because they have to read, but because the readings are pertinent to their daily lives. As a new middle school teacher, I would like to prepare students to various types of reading materials and facilitate discussion about important topics. With these magazines, my students will be able to read articles every week and become educated about community and world issues. They will have options!
