A great kindergarten experience provides a foundation, in which all schooling takes place. Early literacy skills, including letter identification, phonemic awareness, and letter sounds are imperative to future academic success for students. The resources I am requesting will help build a strong foundation of early literacy skills for my students. Personal book boxes allow students the ability to store and independently practice reading books that interest them, which builds reading stamina and excitement. Magnetic letters and alphabet stamps are great ways for students to practice letter identification, letter sounds, and word building in a hands-on and engaging manner. The alphabet pocket chart centers allow students to sort letters and pictures to practice letter identification and letter sounds in a fun and active way- perfect for five year old learners.
