The seating and clipboards that we're requesting will continue the transformation of my classroom from a traditional, front-facing, teacher-led classroom to a classroom that is student-centered and includes flexible seating for students during our reading workshop. Our class focuses on teaching students to read and write like an adult and it is clear that reading like an adult includes being physically comfortable while you read. A traditional classroom does not serve students who need to wiggle or move in order to focus on their books. By donating to our project, you can help create a space for students that is comfortable and helps them focus on the content. In our comfortable space, students will be able to see themselves transition from students who read to true readers.
