Having a 3d printer for my 6th graders will help in a number of ways. In addition to helping students but someone else's needs ahead of their own, students will learn the power of technology and all the future can hold for them. Students will be motivated to take additional science classes in high school as they learn how exciting technology can be. We have already been approved through eNable to make hands for students but the old 3d printer died just as we started to get requests to build hands. Students will learn empathy for others and the power of technology to make lives better. They can create their own designs and explore careers they never knew existed. This 3d printer can be used as a motivation, an inspiration and a life changer for young students in need.
