Pre-K students (4 and 5 year olds) are so excited to be at school! The 37 students that I teach between my morning and afternoon classes are no different. They love school and they love learning. However, many of them have multiple challenges to overcome in order to be successful in school. Our school serves a high poverty population (90%+), with a large number of the students speaking a language other than English as home. These can be risk factors to success, but instead I find that they bring an incredible diversity to our classroom. This diversity creates wonderful learning opportunities in the classroom that make every day new and exciting.
