Students at my school come from a wide range of ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic levels, with 65% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. Our diversity can be a challenge, but we choose to look on it as a positive learning tool for how to collaborate with people from all walks of life. Students from all backgrounds work together to solve problems, brainstorm ideas, and create inventions in my STEM Lab. We form a tight community where everyone's opinions and ideas are appreciated. Even though my students might not be on a level playing field at home, here at school we strive to make knowledge and technology accessible for all.
