The books and non fiction texts I have chosen will help to increase an interest in reading as students will be exposed to current events and also texts that will give them the opportunity to see themselves and their peers in a way they typically aren’t seen. I want my students to read books that have people of color as the main characters so that they understand that everyone should have a “seat at the table”. By providing me with a gift card to purchase teacher resources you will be helping me to continue to enhance my students learning for years to come.
