I will use these books in our classroom library as well as use them for read aloud's that I do daily. I would love for my students to see more diverse faces and hear more diverse stories when they walk into my classroom. Seeing literature where my students are represented will help them feel confident and welcomed into a world that might scary at times. It is so important that classrooms take on an anti-biased approach in the classroom. Providing material that acknowledges different cultures will help to contribute to a future society that is empathetic and more open to discussions. I want my students to know that their stories matter.
