My students need flexible seating and interactive play tools to support their learning development in school. They deserve a learning environment that provides them with comfortable, flexible seating so that they can engage in their learning without distractions or discomfort. This flexible seating includes WOBBLE chairs, portable lap desks, and balance ball seats that will allow students to be moving while they learn. We require students to sit for way too long during the school day, which can lead to lasting negative impacts on their health! Many normal day activities, like P.E. and recess, have been cut from our school funding and no longer play integral roles in our students everyday lives. I want to provide students with as many opportunities to be active during the school day, both outside and inside the classroom! Flexible seating and hands-on "structured playtime" will allow me to do just that! My students are growing, active learners. I have asked for my students input on these seating choices to better meet their needs and they are so excited for these opportunities in seating next year! . With these new seating arrangements, students will be able to stay focused and active while they learn. It is the best of both worlds!
