Our pre-k students are exploring buildings for our Building Study in our virtual class. Pre-k students learn best in person and through interactive, hands-on experiences. Unfortunately, our students are at home and do not have materials they need to explore learning about buildings. The wooden blocks for this project will allow our students to construct creative structures and stimulate their learning experience, while keeping them engaged as they learn the fundamentals of buildings. In addition, our students will learn to apply STEM concepts and expand their curiosity and thinking. As we explore buildings, students will learn math skills; i.e., three-dimensional shapes, spatial reasoning, and comparing sizes. Students will also learn what materials buildings are made of. The wooden blocks will allow the students to develop fine motor skills, problem solving strategies, language and literacy skills, and self esteem through feelings of success.
