My students are excited, eager learners who have come in with little or no previous school exposure and are now reading simple books and writing about their learning. They work hard and have learned to love learning. They have made applesauce, cranberry sauce, soup and gingerbread cookies from scratch and experimented with a variety of living and nonliving objects. They are always asking questions to learn more. Our school is in a low income neighborhood. As a school, we work hard to create opportunities for our students to experience and learn at their best. We set high expectations for each child to achieve all that they can. We collaborate at Accountable Community meetings to help and push each other to be the best we can be as well. We are a close-knit group who work well together and have the support of our community.
