My classroom serves 5 students from multiple disabilities (Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Mitochondrial Disease, etc.) to Autism Spectrum Disorders. While each student is eager to learn, each student has individual needs to be successful. To meet their academic needs, we must meet their needs for sensory input, balance and overall focus. With sensory input throughout each students' day, my students are more likely to be successful in meeting their goals and growing to be more independent. My classroom's overall focus is to build skills and to help each student become more independent as they grow older.
