My students attend a language arts and social justice magnet school which limits our resources from needs based funding. They are committed to making productive changes in the world through powerful language that expresses the importance of fairness and equity, environmental awareness, and personal responsibilities incorporate in a democratic society. They seek to compete in a technology based world and need experiences which lend themselves to enhancing their knowledge. They need lessons brought to life to capture their attention and to allow their imaginations to flourish. They need to develop attention to detail. Additionally, they need strong foundations in math, science, the arts, and literature to allow them to thrive as they mature into contributing citizens in a global economy.
