Preschoolers LOVE their possessions! They love having their own space to keep their treasures. I currently have a sign in center that has 20 slots that are about 1 1/2 inch wide. We use these slots primarily for their small flat work and take home folders. Being in full day preschool they have many other personal belongings (snacks, water bottles, and projects that are not flat) and need space to store them. Having their own cubbies big enough to hold their belongings will teach them independence and organization. A skill that will be very helpful when they head off to a kindergarten classroom where there are 24 students and one teacher. My teaching style is to teach kids to be as independent as possible-Helps for running a smooth classroom! Please help me bring that skill to life!
