My third graders have researched Georgia birds and built birdhouses and feeders based on their research to attract songbirds to our school campus. Having a nesting box cabled to our school computers with a webcam will allow them a close and real-life experience watching birds nest and incubate along with seeing the development of the clutch to fledglings. We will use the live webcam feed to see birds nesting and incubating eggs which will hopefully inspire my students to care for and understand our natural world, and recognize the need to protect and conserve our ecosystems/habitats of birds and animals in their own environments. My goal is to affect all my students at school and at home.
