My school is a title one campus. They are economically disadvantaged. Our day starts off doing math followed by reading. Students are expected to explore reading through reading centers and independent reading, however our classroom library is by no means up to par. I have students who are highly unmotivated about reading. Despite their homelife challenges they are a goofy group of 18 first graders who love school and seeing their teacher smile.
