The materials and supplies that I am requesting are similar to what we used when we could learn together in-person and resources could be shared. With the current structure of students and staff remaining at home, we are less able to share supports between students. I am hoping to be able to create individual kits for students with the card stock, note tabs, mirrors, and envelopes. The document camera and cord will help me provide direct phonics instruction from my home. The methods I use to teach reading are grounded in linguistics and paired with reading science. Students are very responsive to this type of intervention and I have observed that it is engaging, even when being taught in a remote learning environment. My current group is looking forward to continuing their work as "language scientists" when we get access to these materials at home.
