I am an English Language Development specialist using science to teach English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. I work with 8 classes and groups in the Dual Language Instruction side of Riverside Elementary School. My students come from a wide range of cultures and experiences; some have traveled a lot and some have not; some students know multiple languages and some are learning English for their first time. Science is engaging and the reading, writing, speaking, and listening opportunities around investigations are numerous using functions of language such as describing, questioning, comparing, and problem solving, to name a few. Class sizes are usually about 30 students.
