My students are vibrant five year olds. They are squirmy and full of life. I have a class where boys out number girls and the energy level is always high. They are transitioning from their pre-school (or in some cases no school) backgrounds into a more structured classroom environment. They amaze me everyday with how much they absorb. Some of them are already reading, and enjoy doing so. They enjoy going to the school library. However, we only have access to the library once a week, every other week. They also enjoy playing with play-dough, drawing and playing with blocks. Our school is a close knit community. Parents are involved, always reaching out and helping in any way they can.
