My students come from 80% poverty. I teach in a Title 1 school district. They do not have the opportunities that other students may have from across the country. Being a first year teacher, I want my students to have the very best. My students are very encouraged by the use of the three laptops in my classroom, however, when a student is unable to use it because of the lack of time we have, they get very discouraged. My school tries the very best that they can to be up to date with technology but sometimes falls short. It would be a real learning experience for my students to be able to work inside the classroom and research different math or science topics. Although we do have a computer lap in the school, it would be much easier to have laptops in the classroom so that we can complete stations. Students could be working in small groups with me while others are on the laptops working on an assignment. I believe that
