I am the MTSS coordinator at a diverse public high school. We saw great success with our mentoring program last year, and we are using this program to provide a variety of Tier II and Tier III interventions. I work with at risk youth, students who, for a variety of reasons, are at risk for dropping out of school. I also work within that same framework to identify early warning indicators such as chronic absenteeism, behavioral incidents, course failure, and social emotional needs, and I work to find solutions to meet those needs while also enabling my students to be self advocates who can set and achieve goals.
