There are so many digital resources available to students to help increase their understanding of math and science, especially through our program of STEM. The concern of my students being able to work on their own in my class or explore around the school when doing in class projects based on the topics at hand, is that they don't have the flexibility to explore. My students have also noticed the overuse of the current laptops we SHARE with all of our grade level. Picture a class of 5th grade advanced and gifted students trying to do in class weekly and biweekly research projects, or finding research to support a hypothesis for a science experiment, solving real world problems through these projects, expressing themselves, finding proof on web through resources, the opportunities are limitless. Imagine students taking part in an on-line quiz with immediate feedback on their performance by using digital resources such as Kahoot, Brainpop, StudyJams, etc. These chrome books will help them learn to be responsible for their belongings, they will learn to be more technological savvy in a world that requires it. They will learn to transfer their technology skills across the curriculum, not only in my classroom, and in their future . Donations to my project will improve my classroom by allowing each student to have easy access to technological resources they must become fluent with in order to succeed. It will allow all students to participate in the technology software resources our school has acquired for their use. My students' lives will be changed by simply having the opportunity to work with and become familiar with different forms of technology. They will further enjoy the world of exploring the web and finding errors, correcting those errors, and learning from them.
