I work in a Title I school. My students are very diverse, which makes the classroom an even more exciting place to learn. They love to learn about their cultural similarities and differences, and have quickly learned that our differences are what make us so special. I strongly encourage my students to push themselves harder and harder each day, and as a class we celebrate each others achievements. I currently have nine students that are below level in comprehension, fluency and retell (ability to recall details from a text). In order to not only bring them up to grade level but also prepare them for the fourth grade, I need more access to books in my classroom that are on their individual reading levels. This will allow me to work with them on a one on one basis to ensure they are getting the additional supports that they need to thrive.
