I teach Earth science and life science to sixth and seventh grade students, respectively, in California. I teach to low-income minority students in a high-need community. My college preparatory school opened its doors in August 2008 with the mission to serve and educate impoverished students. We hope to inspire these students to attend four year colleges. For most of our students, he or she will be the first individual in his or family to attend college.
