My students love 3D modeling! They use Tinkercad and other software to create simple and complex models, as they build technical and design skills over time. The students use spatial reasoning, geometry and other math skills to construct characters and architecture - both real and imagined. All the while, they are gaining valuable 21st century experience that will prepare them for high school and beyond. Building a model on a computer is great, but transforming that model into a 'real thing' that a student can hold in their hands - that's a powerful tool. This is why we need the materials - to make our ideas real. I'm especially excited about this year because we will be doing more 3D design then ever, as we design product prototypes and recreate engineering marvels from the ancient world and modern times. Your money will be very well spent on this project and will be used for 24 classes of students this year alone.
